Ethnic Communities

St. Johns has always had strong ethnic communities that contribute greatly to the parish. They contribute both to the spiritual life of the church and they also share their culture with the whole church.

When the parish was first founded, the parishioners were largely Italian and Portuguese. When Fr. John Maxwell was pastor, he determined that we have people from more that 50 ethnic backgrounds.

Today, we have people of many different ethnicities. Many of these groups have contributed articles so they could say how they help the parish.
