Sanctuary

Fr. Thuong wanted to move the tabernacle to the center of the church. During the centennial year he totally changing the whole sanctuary.

Before our centennial started the tabernacle was moved from the right side of the altar to the center of the church and mounted on a new stand. The Floor was done. We were using the altar and ambo the Bishop Cummins had blessed at our 50th anniversary. The Divine Mercy image was replaced by a large mosaic on the Baptism of Jesus.

After the last Mass with the old altar and just before the centennial blessing of the new altar, the new altar and ambo were moved into the church.

At our centennial opening Mass, Bishop Barber inserted the relics and blessed the new altar and it was used for the first time.

Over the next several months, Fr. Thuong added cherubs, doves and arch angles to the back wall and replaced the last supper image in the altar with a lighter gold image which is much easier to see.

The last piece completed was a decrative arch over Our Lady of Grace. She has a light that makes the statue quit visible.
